Leaving on a Jet Plane

At this time tomorrow, I will be at the airport.  Eek!  I really hate planes.  Also, the plane I will be on for the first, and longest leg of my journey has a middle row of seats.  But, only two seats on each of the outside rows. So, it means that there's only 1 middle seat for every 7 seats, bringing my chance of being in the middle way down.  However, I really just don't want to be in the middle section.  Also, I don't get to choose my seat for another 2ish hours.  And people are allowed to pay to pick seats early.  So it's very possible that I will get a supremely crappy seat.  Or not.

Not to fill a post with negatives, but I also realized today that I never received a confirmation from the shuttle company that I booked to take me from the airport to St Andrews.  So, I probably don't have a spot, meaning that rather than paying £20 for the nice shuttle that takes you to pick up your keys and then to the dorm, I can either spend £70-115 on a taxi, or under £20 to take public transportation (which will probably not be so good with all of my luggage).

But I'm still really excited.  So I'm making a list of exciting Scottish things.

1.  BBC shows - The video player on their website doesn't work in the US, but it will work in Scotland.  No more need for megavideo, which is good, because it no longer exists.
2.  David Tennant and Karen Gillan - I WILL find them.
3.  DYLAN! - She isn't Scottish, but she is in Scotland.
4.  Old Stuff - America's old, but Scotland is older.  600 year old university, here I come!
5.  No meal plan - Lots of cooking delicious food.
6.  People - They have accents.
7.  Only 2 classes - They'll probably be really difficult and independent research heavy, but I only have classes 3 days a week.
8.  Student visitor status - No job! No working! (This could also go on a list of un-exciting things, but I'll enjoy it for now)
9.  PLAID! - plaid, plaid, plaid, plaid, plaid
10.  I don't know, it's Scotland!

No Juice?

So, I'm spending the next four months at the University of St Andrews, if you were not aware.  I am excited, and a bit nervous (mostly for the plane), but either way, I am leaving on Monday, and that's that.  I still need to do laundry, and maybe dry cleaning, and pack, and try to make sure my giant suitcase weighs less than 50 pounds, and try to see if I can get away with only 1 checked bag (unlikely), and send in a picture for my ID, and do everything for the last time for four months.  Also, a hockey game.  That's exciting.
So, why no juice?  The other night, I was looking at the local grocery store's website, and a half-gallon of Tropicana grapefruit juice (the best) costs $5.68.  WHAT?!  Needless to say, there is not room in my budget for such luxuries.  Granted, that's the price for Tropicana.  It's highly likely that other brands are cheaper, but still.  I was floored.  So ridiculous.
